Madison Kozak – Step’in Up

Madison is well on her way to completing her second CD. I’m not sure if Step’in Up will be the title of the CD but because I chose the name and threw together a little mock up of the cover below, I’m kind of partial to the idea. At eleven years old she is making her mark on the Country Music Industry and last year Madison was one of the lucky 21 contestants selected out of hundreds who apply annually to compete in the Havelock Jamboree Talent Showcase Contest. From the twenty one selected contestants only one is chosen to perform on the main stage for fifteen minutes along side professional seasoned recording artists such as LeAnne Rimes, Terry Clark, George Canyon and many others. She teamed up with “The Blackfly Band” behind her and was announced the grand winner. It was dream come true for Madison but the hard work paid off. Madison also performed at the “Classic Country Music Reunion” in Trenton in 2007 and was the only performer that day to be asked for an encore. It was here that Madison met Marsh Dudman from the Kinmount Fair committee who asked her if she would open for Tommy Cash on Labor Day. She was thrilled to be asked by Tommy Cash to sing Jackson with him on the main stage to a sold out enthusiastic audience. Since then, she has opened and sang with Tommy Cash at the Marmora Jamboree. Madison was equally thrilled to be asked to perform at one of the largest agricultural fairs in Ontario “The Lindsay Exhibition” in 2007. Madison has been asked to play this years 2008 Havelock Jamboree on the main stage! She will share that stage with well known Country Music Superstars Clint Black,Travis Tritt, Kris Kristofferson, Earl Scruggs With Family and Friends, Tracy Byrd, Johnny Reid, Aaron Tippin, Mickey Gilley, Joe Diffie, Juice Newton,Carlene Carter,The Marshall Tucker Band,The Stampeders, Connie Smith, Jason D Williams, The Good Brothers, Crystal Shawanda, Shane Yellowbird, Jessie Farrell, Country Joe McDonald, The Sadies, Dawn Langstroth and South Mountain. There is no doubt in my mind that Madison is on the right path, heading in the right direction with a solid support team behind her, not to mention one of the most creative photographers in Canada. Ok that may be pushing it a tad…….but she is a pleasure to photograph and takes direction well. With a brand new CD almost complete, some smok’in photographic images, Madison is definitely Step’in up for 2008. Enjoy a few of the many images shot during our session.
