There was only one way to capture an image of the police station. Use a fish eye to get in front of the hideous telephone poles and wires and shoot early so that the scene was void of Kawarthians and Loogins

I’d say this is another “Ridout Classic”! A wonderful moment with that nostalgic feel that you are so great at communicating. I have no doubt that your client will absolutely love this one!
Good leading lines. Great black & white with lots of mood.
Wonderful shot. Great treatment, tones are spot on and the composition is excellent!

Martin - Now that is what I call a captive shot…. ho ho ho….
M.
Supairx - Just out of curiosity I took a look at their official website and man they need some serious redesign and photos. They certainly don’t deserve the look. That is maybe the best entrance photo they ever had. Amazing Hdr treatment and fisheye framing under the circumstances. It makes their world look better too.
Mark Ridout - Because of the telephone poles and wires that would interfere with a standard lens, as well as trying to get in the entire front of the station, a fish eye was the only way I could achieve a clean unobstructed view.
Karsh - Great shot Mark, did you want the fisheye effect or merely used out of necessity?
